Q.1. Yash lived in Delhi and he loves to play football. But as of now his half yearly exams were going on so his mother didn’t allow him to go out and play. She promised Yash that as soon as his exams are over, he can go and play.
Post exams he went out to play football with his friends in the park. Suddenly a mosquito bit him under his left knee. He came home and everything was normal that time. The next day his health started getting affected. His Parents rushed him to the doctor. The doctor prescribed some medicines and some medical tests. The next day parents went to the doctor with yash’s medical report. In that report the platelet counts were very low. The doctor diagnosed him with Dengue fever. Yash was hospitalised for some time and followed a strict diet to recover as early as possible. And eventually some days passed and he recovered.

Ans. Option (c) is correct.
Explanation: Microorganisms are the living organisms that are very minute to be seen by naked eye that can be seen only through microscope. Microorganisms include bacteria, algae, fungi and protozoa.

Q.3. How does dengue virus spread?

Ans. Dengue is a viral infection transmitted to humans through the bite of mosquitoes. It is caused by the bite of female mosquito Aedes aegypti. The mosquito becomes infected when it takes the blood of a person infected with the virus. After about one week, the mosquito can then transmit the virus while biting a healthy person. These mosquitoes generally bite during day time and are found everywhere. Headache, high fever, vomiting are some symptoms of dengue.

Q.4. Write any three preventive measures for dengue fever.

Ans. (i) Use mosquito repellents and wear long sleeved clothes and full pants before going outside the house
(ii) Do not let water stagnate anywhere, reduce the mosquito habitat.
(iii) Sleeping under the mosquito net protects from being bitten by mosquitoes.
